Today we are taking a look at the new Creative Sound Blaster iRoar, a compact portable Bluetooth speaker that’s a real powerhouse! Taking the Roar 2 design to the next level, the iRoar remains compact while delivering even more room-filling audio and a huge twenty hour run time… Late last year we took a look at Creative’s second version of their renowned Roar portable Bluetooth speaker, the Roar 2. Built inside a more compact and subsequently lighter chassis, the Roar 2 offered the same impressive audio quality as the original model while improving portability.
![]() Personally I really love my Roar 2 and have used it on a weekly basis since publishing our review back in September 2015. Without question it is one of the best portable Bluetooth speakers I have used to date and in the 7 months I have been rocking the Roar 2 it hasn’t faltered once. The only area where I feel improvements could be made is the battery. The 8-hour run time isn’t bad but it typically means I have to charge it after every use, or at the very least every second use. Still this is an issue I can live with and have been happily. Nevertheless, when Creative announced the iRoar, boasting bigger sound and a whopping 20-hour battery life, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I got my hands on one. Dubbed by Creative as “The Most Intelligent Speaker on the Planet” let’s just say I was intrigued. At a glance the iRoar looks quite a bit like the original Roar, making it quite different to the Roar 2. Apart from the huge 20-hour battery capacity the iRoar also claims to pack twice the power of the previous two models. So, before we get down to the nitty gritty, we should mention the price and as you might have expected it’s a rather large one. The Roar 2 went on sale for $200 and can now be had for $170, making it a considerably good buy in my opinion. Also keep in mind it is still possible to purchase the original Roar for just $130. Having said all that, the iRoar does come with a suggested retail price of $370… yeah I know. Clearly aimed squarely at audiophiles with deep pockets, the iRoar had better deliver on all fronts... |

I really want this in my life but I don't want to pay $600. Any idea when it will be available else where? |
