[ Introduction ]

Today we have the Creative Sound Blaster X7, an audiophile grade external DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) featuring a 100w amplifier, Dolby Digital Decoding and Bluetooth 4.1 support. Along with the Sound Blaster X7 we also have the E-MU XM7 bookshelf speakers which are specially designed for the X7...

Creative’s Sound Blaster X7 is an all-in-one audio solution designed not only for music lovers but also movie buffs and serious gamers. The Sound Blaster X7 features a Burr-Brown PCM1794 127dB digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and supports high-resolution audio playback of up to 24-bit 192kHz.

The real stand out feature however is the 24-bit Sound Blaster Audio Processor. Featuring the SB-Axx1 multi-core Digital Signal Processor (DSP) which is capable of voice processing, audio restoration, proprietary effects processing and is also a certified Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder.

It has a special patented EMU32 bus capable of processing up to 32 concurrent audio streams. This allows the Sound Blaster X7 to handle multiple audio inputs and outputs. In addition, a proprietary audio chip helps the Sound Blaster X7 achieve audiophile-grade audio playback from stereo to 5.1 configurations at up to 24-bit 192kHz.

As you might have gathered the Sound Blaster X7 is a premium product and as such carries a premium price tag of $400. Still, if you can handle that price then the extra $270 required to get your hands on the EMU XM7 speakers shouldn’t be an issue.

Each of the E-MU XM7 speakers include a five-inch custom designed woofer featuring an oversized magnet structure and shielding, along with a specially doped one-inch high efficiency silk dome tweeter. The result is wide frequency response, high dynamic range and stunning soundstage.

Creative say these speakers were designed specifically for the Sound Blaster X7; “Hook up your Sound Blaster X7 to the E-MU XM7 so it will reproduce every detail and texture of your audio with pristine clarity.”

Those speakers look really nice. I need a pair for my bedroom. Are they on sale in Australia yet? I can't find them anywhere.

I really wish they didn't roll you with the power supply. The X7 would be so much better with the 144 watt adapter as standard.

@ ICEMAN yes I agree.
