Today we are taking an in-depth look at the latest Inno3D graphics card based on the world’s fastest GPU, the GF110. Known as the GeForce GTX 580 this version features overclocked core and memory frequencies designed to make this already very fast graphics card even faster...
Earlier this month on November 9th Nvidia released their answer to the upcoming AMD Radeon HD 6900 (Cayman) series, which is set to launch next month. The GeForce GTX 580 was really everything the GTX 480 should have been.
Whereas the GeForce GTX 480 was a tough sell because of its high power consumption, extreme heat and loud operating volume, the GTX 580 is much more efficient. Yes, it still consumes a lot of power, but its lowered thermal output and tolerable operating volume make it a far less compromising product. Although the GeForce GTX 580 has been a well executed product, offering a new level of performance and efficiency for Nvidia, the actual product launch was not nearly as well executed. The GeForce GTX 580 was quite an unorganized launch, at least from our perspective, as Nvidia was unable to help with samples and the board partners that we spoke to were a little foggy on the launch day details. In short it was all a bit of a mess. As a result we were not able to bring you our coverage of the Inno3D GeForce GTX 580 OC on launch day. Nevertheless we are able to show you what this factory overclocked graphics card can do now. Although this product is based on the Nvidia reference design, making it very much like all the GeForce GTX 580’s available right now, this is not unusual for a newly released high-end graphics cards. It will likely be some time before we see custom built GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards. However in the meantime Inno3D has fine tuned their version by boosting the core and memory frequencies. To date we have come across very few factory overclocked GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards and in fact this Inno3D version is the most aggressively tuned version we know of. Therefore without wasting any more time, let’s take a look at the cards specifications… |

Nvidia is back! Awesome performance out of that card even if it does cost $500. |

These are really fast. I am keen to see how the GTX 570 goes and the 560. Nice review by the way. |
