[ Introduction ]

Today we have Leetgion’s Hellion RTS gaming mouse up for review, which was the first product to be released by the relatively new branch from Thermalright. We are particularly keen to check out this unit today as it claims to be inspired from StarCraft II along with being fast, accurate & deadly in the right hands...

In the past, gamers tended to leave the keyboard and mouse upgrade to one of the last on the to-do list. Lately though, it not only seems to be an extension of your arm but an expression of personality, with so many options in colours, styles, weights, configurations and LED lighting. With our local IT hardware shop currently having around 130+ options on offer it can be a daunting task to upgrade, so reviews are a must.

Leetgion’s Hellion can be picked up for a very reasonable MSRP of $60. With a price tag like this though, we expect to see a quality gaming mouse with some great innovation and durability – something to take SCII to another level. Like the recently reviewed El’Druin mouse, the Hellion comes well packaged kicking things off to a great start. Again we find the acrylic case within the outer box, with plenty of protective wrapping over the mouse & feet area also. A nice touch being added in the form of the ‘mini’ quick start guide, covering what each button is designed for, where the DPI and Race adjustment switches are and explaining the LED colour changes when doing so.

Without anywhere near as many goodies to play with as the El’Druin, the Hellion still certainly doesn’t disappoint on first opening as you are well covered by a long braided cable and replacement feet. Boasting some very interesting features - tuned into the minds of StarCraft II lovers - we plan to find out just how well this unit compares to its claims, and probably more importantly, its price tag.
