The OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB was marginally faster than the RevoDrive X2 240GB when measuring random read 512 bytes performance. The random 512 bytes write performance of the OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB was slightly weaker than the RevoDrive X2 240GB as it delivered rather average performance. The 1MB random read performance of the OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB is remarkable, reaching 1137MB/s, making it 71% faster than the RevoDrive X2 240GB. Moreover it was 2.5x faster than the Vertex 3 240GB, which is an impressive gain. The 1Mb random write performance is just as impressive, as the OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB managed 1157.6MB/s, making it 2x faster than the RevoDrive X2 240GB and 2.5x faster than the Vertex 3 240GB. The random read and random file size performance was again impressive, with the OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB averaging 996.2MB/s. This made it 1.6x faster than the RevoDrive X2 240GB and 2.5x faster than the Vertex 3 240GB. Lastly the random write random file size test and here the OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB was 1.6x faster than the RevoDrive X2 240GB and 2.2x faster than the Vertex 3 240GB.
