[ Introduction ]

Today we are taking a look at the QNAP TS-419P II Turbo NAS, which is a 4-bay network attached storage device that aims to deliver the perfect balance of performance and price to small office and home users. The TS-419P II includes a few important features such as eSATA and USB 3.0, while it can be loaded with the latest firmware...

In recent years, QNAP has emerged as one of the biggest names in the network-attached storage business and for good reason: it offers one of the largest and most impressive NAS product lines. The company's offerings start at $150 and can go for more than $1,000 catering to home, SMB and corporate needs.

Their line-up grew even more diverse earlier this year with the addition of QNAP's new small office/home office TS-x19 range, which includes single (TS-119 $160), dual (TS-219P II $300) and quad-bay (TS-419P II $490) iterations designed to deliver well-rounded performance, low power levels and a wealth of applications for home networks.

As one of QNAP's most affordable 4-bay NAS, we were unsurprisingly drawn to the TS-419P II. Although it is priced $100 above the older TS-412, the Marvell processor runs 66% faster (1.2GHz versus 2.0GHz) and we feel that the TS-419P II could be better value.
