[ Introduction ]

Thermaltake offers a huge number of cases and they seem to be adding new models almost every week. Today we have yet another new model. Announced early in May, we have the Armor A90, which is the seventh addition to the Armor family. The Armor A90 is just one of a dozen mid tower chassis on offer from Thermaltake, though it has to be said that it features one of their more aggressive designs...

The last few cases that we have reviewed from Thermaltake looked suspiciously like existing products released by their competition. This was a little disappointing, as we used to really enjoy checking out Thermaltake cases as they almost always provided us with radically new designs. In fact, one of their most exciting, successful and unique case series was the Armor.

Therefore it is only fitting that their most recent and unique looking case is a member of the Armor series. Known as the Armor A90, this case combines aggressive looks, functional features and value into a mid-tower chassis. Priced at around $90 US, the Thermaltake Armor A90 is quite good value given all it has to offer.

The case is entirely black inside and out, while it features what Thermaltake calls their "bulletproof" armor design. This design incorporates metal mesh elements and a reinforced front door that give the Armor A90 an extremely stylish and powerful appearance that should attract gamers of all sorts.

Aesthetics aside, Thermaltake has also concentrated on expanding the cases storage capabilities, while also working on improving air-flow for better cooling performance. Although there is nothing new or unseen about the Armor A90, it does bring together all the existing features that we often find in more expensive high-end cases rather well.

Guess who just found their new computer case. This is awesome timing I just bought the new hardware for my Phenom II X6 build and was in need of a slick looking case.

It looks pretty cool but the new Cooler Master and Antec cases that have been announced over the last week look heaps better IMO.

Instead of constantly commenting on the lack of cable management Steve should have looked at Thermaltake's website. It plainly shows 'Hidden cable shelter behind drive bays for cable management' for the A90. Maybe someone with a little more experience should be doing case reviews.

@ Kensai - LOL before you try and convince everyone that you are intelligent Steve did say they can be put there but its still messy and they run across the motherboard. If you actually read the review and checked out the pictures you will see that Steve did tuck the extra cables away next to the drive bays, still looked crap.

Kensai if you want to call stuffing the cables next to the drive bays cable management then good luck to you. This is not real cable management and it looks like a mess, the very thing good cable management should avoid.

You sound like you are that person with a little more experience so do you want to submit your take on the Thermaltake Armor A90? I am just not sure how well you will go with the enthusiasts when you start calling random gaps in cases where cables can be stuffed cable management, even if that is what the manufacturer is trying to call it :P

I agree this case has no real cable management. Cases with good CM do not have power cables running across the motherboard, that is the very definition of bad management. Great review thanks.
