DISCUSS REVIEW
By now we are all surely aware of the benefits of flash media. Its versatility enables users to plug and play just about any where at any time. From its humble beginnings of 16MB (and smaller though not as common), flash media is now exploring new grounds in its search for larger memory capacity. There are now many 4GB flash memory sticks readily available, while companies continue to develop 8GB and are hoping to conquer even larger capacities.

However, the issue that is now also coming in to play is the physical size of these memory sticks. Originally we were all impressed with how small they were; often only a few centimeters in length and width, but as is the way we now want them smaller. Enter the OCZ Mini-Kart. This memory stick challenges current average size specifications with its tiny dimensions. Measuring only 43mm (L) x 19mm (W) x 2.8mm (H), the OCZ Mini-Kart is ultimate when it comes to portability.

This slim-line, light-weight memory stick features a durable USB connector that is designed specifically to be exposed. It also features a blue LED activity light, capacity sizes of 512MB, 1GB or 2GB and a three year warranty. With an average retail price of $30 US for the 1GB version and $50 US for the 2GB version, this is definitely a competitive and highly useful product. The OCZ Mini-Kart will be one of those products that will become more of an essential accessory for most users.

There was once a time when it almost took longer to move small amounts of data, such as word documents and excel spread sheets, than it did to create them. Back in the days of floppy disks transferring data was a real headache. Not only were transfer rates incredibly slow, data integrity was also very poor and you were lucky if a floppy disk managed to get the information from A to B only half the time.

This really is where flash media shines; its fast, portable and highly reliable. The OCZ Mini-Kart 1GB flash drive improves on this already impressive technology by pushing a few boundaries. First and foremost the OCZ Mini-Kart is tiny, even on a key ring it goes unnoticed and this is also largely due to it being almost weightless. Amazingly the version we have here today for review can accommodate for up to 1GB of data, making it an incredibly powerful key ring accessory!
