According to 3Dmark2003 Pro, the GeForce 7600GS was 13% faster at 1280x1024 than the Radeon X1600 Pro. Increasing the resolution to 1600x1200 helped boost the margin in favor of the 7600GS to 20%. Still, even a 20% performance margin does not make up for the 30% price premium you will pay for the 7600GS over the X1600 Pro.
