Already the Prolimatech Megahalems is proving to be an impressive performer, matching our best ever idle performance result. When operating its fan at full speed the Cooler Master V8 was capable of keeping the 3.60GHz quad-core processor at just 31 degrees at idle. The new Megahalems matched this with a fan speed of just 1200 PRM, beating other impressive coolers such as the Thermalright TRUE Copper and Scythe Kama Angle.

While the idle performance was impressive, the Prolimatech Megahalems is truly amazing when placed under load. Previous performance kings have been the Cooler Master V8 and Thermalright TRUE Copper with load temperatures of 59 degrees. The Megahalems had no trouble beating this, keeping the overclocked Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor at 56 degrees, 3 degrees cooler than our previous best result.
