The Sony Bravia KDL46HX900 features a 1920x1080 resolution and features an "Intelligent Dynamic LED" backlight which should offer a higher contrast level than the edge-lit HX800. Sony's LED backlight allows the screen to turn sections off for higher contrast, and based on a brief demo of a white image on a black screen it appeared to work — without the haloing we've seen on competing technologies.
